Decibel Festival This Weekend
21 September, 2007 | 11.17AM- Section: Music News
The Fourth Annual Decibel Festival is underway this weekend. An impressive line-up of over 80 internationally-ranged artists as live performers, DJs and VJs take over several venues in Seattle through Sunday, September 24th.
This year’s highlights include the ever ominous Mute artist Speedy J with a live performance, the party-time antics of NYC’s Wolf + Lamb DJ crew and a live ambient soundscape performance from legendary modern composer Harold Budd with equally accomplished Cocteau Twin Robin Guthrie. Los Angeles’ Budd has worked with Brian Eno, among others.
Germany’s Wolfgang Flür, known primarily for his ground-breaking work with electronic beat innovators Kraftwerk, also takes to the stage in a live performance.
Biosphere brings his enveloping layers from Norway, while DJ Heather (formerly of Chicago’s SuperJane crew) brings in the house.
Industrial also enters the picture with Chicago’s Kill Memory Crash and Germany’s Motor.
Beatport is sponsoring the 4-day festival as countless others join this year’s roster.
