Dean Coleman is ‘Starting Over’

‘Starting Over’ is the sort of record you instantly feel at home with, not least thanks to Dean Coleman’s stellar production work.
Minimal in the main, the Atlanta-based deck general is a master at knowing that less-is-more and the balance of deep ‘n’ dirty bass-inflected grooves with acid bleeps melds into a lethal combination.
It’s also the first release on Coleman’s MusicIz label that’s distributed exclusively by Beatport.
“Having my work spread over a handful of other labels has been very gratifying,” he states, “but it’s also caused some problems for people looking for my latest releases.”
“In creating MusicIz, my goal is to provide one location for all my work, so that instead of hearing about a new record I’ve done and having to track it down, people can just go straight to Beatport.”
