Deadmau5 video interview
18 April, 2008 | 2.24PM- Section: Videos Topics: Beatport Blog
Deadmau5 aka Joel Zimmerman is one of the most successful artists ever on Beatport having had more no.1 records than any other artist.
Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Deadmau5 is one of the most respected producers in electronic music currently with his club hits ‘Not Exactly’, ‘Faxing Berlin’ and ‘The Rewards Is Cheese’ having been played by every major trance, electro and house DJ.
Deadmau5’ remix services are in demand too - over the past year he’s turned Hybrid’s ‘Finished Symphony’ and Burufunk and Carbon Community’s ‘Community Funk’ into anthems.
Deadmau5 is also up for four awards in the Beatport Music Awards - Best Electro House Artists, Best Progressive House Artist, Best Remix and Best Single.
Having revolutionised the electro house scene with his unique melodic progressive sound, Beatportal finally caught up with Deadmau5, a notoriously shy character who even threatened to turn up to our interview wearing a mouse suit, and grilled him about his extraordinary rise to the top of the electronic music scene.
In our exclusive video interview Deadmau5 reveals that he plans on unleashing a new sound late in 2008 and he’s working on his debut artist album right now.
Check out all his hits in the player below.
