Deadmau5 fan recreates ‘Ghosts N Stuff’

Toronto electro house star Deadmau5 has one of the most committed fanbases in electronic music currently, with his melodic electro and progressive house sound constantly debated and dissected on forums.

A few aspiring producers out there are desperate to emulate Deadmau5’ sound, but one has gone further than most to copy it.

In this video, Belgian producer Timofey shows how he managed to recreate Deadmau5’ recent hit ‘Ghosts N Stuff’ perfectly in Ableton Live 7.

Timofey has even made his Ableton Live Project available to download from his website, so other producers can see how to make their productions sound just like Deadmau5.

From the video it sounds like Timofey really nailed it, but is the quest to copy Deadmau5 good for the scene?

Aspiring producers will lap up a chance to get their productions sounding more professional by seeing how the pros do it, but there is already an abundance of artists out there producing Deadmau5-sounding tracks. Do we need anymore?

On a side note, it’s rather ironic that Timofey chose ‘Ghosts N Stuff’ to recreate, as at the end of the track Deadmau5 actually satirized his forum critics, some of whom he believes are jealous of his success.
