Dance Anthem: Blue Boy ‘Remember Me’

Dance Anthem: Blue Boy ‘Remember Me’

“Remember me? I’m the one who has your baby’s eyes,” so goes the lyrics of one of the funkiest dance tracks of all time.

Blue Boy [a] ‘Remember Me’ is such a groovy, infectious record full of sunny lyrics, so it’s somewhat surprising to know it came from Glasgow, probably one of the most rainy and grey parts of Britain.

When the track was released in 1996 it became an instant classic and Pete Tong even included it on his 1997 mix CD ‘Dance Nation 3’ for Ministry of Sound - back then their CDs were still credible.

The lyrics and the broken beat meant the track translated well on the radio, as well as the dancefloor, and for a few months it was all over the airwaves.

The Sure Is Pure Mix that Pete Tong used on his ‘Dance Nation 3’ mix isn’t available digitally, but the mix on ‘Om:10 A Decade of Future Dance’ sounds close enough.
