Damian Lazarus’ long awaited debut LP ‘Smoke The Monster Out’ dropped today on Get Physical Music, and as expected, the album is a highly ambitious and personal record.

With blissful guitar-laden pop, drifting minimal excursions, soulful electronica soundscapes, classical interludes and uptempo electro, ‘Smoke The Monster Out’ sounds like nothing one would expect from the Crosstown Rebels’/hell-raising DJ.

Coming together as a fully considered longplayer, Lazarus proves the album concept can work in electronic music and wonderfully so - there really is no point cherry picking the LP’s cuts as they don’t make half the impact as when heard together.

Don’t be surprised is Lazarus wins a few ‘Best Album’ awards this year for ‘Smoke The Monster Out’.

Note: ‘Smoke The Monster Out’ will be available in the US on 26th May
