Daft Punk and Kanye West collaboration
8 June, 2007 | 1.28AMFrench house heroes Daft Punk
have joined forces with US hip hop sensation Kanye West for an extraordinary electro rap track called ‘Stronger’ (check out a preview above).
The American producer and rapper has apparently been bitten by the house bug, and decided to hook up with the French dance duo to create the track which sits somewhere in between Ed Banger electro and West’s hip hop beats.
‘Stronger’ borrows heavily from Daft Punk’s classic single ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’, and Daft Punk have given their permission for West to use the track and even appear alongside the star in the video in their recognisable robot helmets.
The track is the first single to be released from Kanye West’s forthcoming album ‘Graduation’.
The buzz surrounding the track is huge, and desperate fans have already uploaded it onto YouTube despite the video not having been released yet.
Kanye West’s new found love for French house might be due to the knock back he received at last year’s MTV Europe Awards.
Famously, the hip hop star stormed the stage feeling hard done by after Justice Vs. Simian beat him to the Best Video award.
Rather than beat them, perhaps he has joined them?
