Based on a sample of the song ‘D Lake’ by Claudio Pelissero, ‘Cygnes’ is the latest offering from thriving remixer Mr Sam.

With the help of Andy Duguid, Mr Sam has given the original record more of an edge, making it the ideal tune to get any trance rave going.

Adding a pounding beat while maintaining the heartwarming qualities of the original, ‘Cygnes’ is the perfect December release, with clAud9’s choir boy-like vocals giving the record that Christmassy feel.

Mr Sam’s limited use of chords could leave the track open to accusations of it being too simple , but that hasn’t prevented it from reaching the number 1 spot in the Beatport trance charts or Armin from dropping it in all of his sets since June.

Naming it tune of the week on his ‘A State of Trance’ radio show and including it on his latest compilation series of the same name, it’s no secret that ‘Cygnes’ is Armin’s favourite track of 2008.

Currently working together in a studio in Scotland, we can expect more gems like this from Mr Sam and Andy Duguid in the coming months.
