Cut Copy: Need You Now
Cut Copy: Need You Now
17 February, 2011 | 3.40PMAustralia’s Cut Copy are back with their first album in three years, and Zonoscope is earning rave reviews, including an 8.6 out of 10 and a “Best New Music” tag from indie bible Pitchfork. “Cut Copy have the architecture of dance music down perfectly and the confidence to execute the genre’s moves with absolute precision,” writes reviewer Tom Breihan, who also praises the band for its singalong pop hooks.
“Need You Now” certainly shows them off in top form, with a springy, sunny vibe that sounds a little like a meeting between Carl Craig and Echo and the Bunnymen. (Why did no one think of that combo before?)
We’ve got two EPs from the album, ”Zonoscope Part 1” and ”Zonoscope Part 2,” featuring six album cuts plus killer remixes from Permanent Vacation
faves Azari & III and Midnight Magic. Check’em both out below.
