Cream gets into rock music
15 June, 2007 | 1.49AMOne of the world’s biggest dance music promoters has organised a rock concert. Britain’s Cream, which has put on award-winning dance festivals like Creamfields and Rockness since the late 1990s will stage a massive two-day rock and pop event at Knowsley Hall near Liverpool.
Significantly, the Merseyside city is where Cream first rose to prominence - first as a superclub, then as a world-recorgnised dance brand second only to London’s Ministry of Sound.
With headliners such as The Who, Keane, Madness and The Zutons, Knowsley Hall Music Festival on June 23rd and 24th is unlikely to attract Cream or Creamfields’ regular punters, but is set to push the brand into a whole new music territory.
Clearly the Cream team have realised they’ve got the experience and know-how to organise massive outdoor events - so why not change the soundtrack?
Cream’s head honcho James Barton said:“Knowsley Hall is going to be a wonderful venue and the festival will be one of the music highlights of the summer.”
