Beatportal has teamed up with Cr2 Records to offer aspiring producers the chance to remix Fedde Le Grand’s ‘Get This Feeling’ and have their remixes released on the high profile imprint.

Cr2 need four remixes from four different genres: house, electro house, tech house and techno, and a winner from each genre will be released on the label. The winners will also receive a $50 Beatport gift card and some Beatport goodies.

As usual, the Beatport and Beatportal community will have the chance to vote for the best submitted remixes by ‘spinning’ their favorites.

‘Get This Feeling’ premium parts

The Cr2 and Fedde Le Grand ‘Get This Feeling’ remix contest has three phases:

1.  January 27th - February 3rd, 2009 - Download phase - Download the remix parts, and get remixing.

2.  February 3rd - February 17, 2009 - Upload/Submission phase - Upload your remix to Beatportal at www.beatportal.com/remix. During this phase the entries can be listened to, but not voted for. The remix parts will still be available to download during this phase.

3.  February 17th - March 3rd, 2009 - Voting phase - The public votes for their favorite remixes by ‘spinning’ them.

After a period of deliberation, the winners will be announced on March 19th, 2009.

The four winners will receive a $50 Beatport gift card and Beatport T-shirt, and their remix will be released on Cr2 Records.

COMPETITION RULES

1. Download the remix parts to ‘Get This Feeling’. There are two free parts available that are not part of the premium package, and also a premium package containing all of the parts to ‘Get This Feeling’ — including the full version of the original — for $3.99 USD.
Please note: The contest is being judged on originality of remix, not sound quality. You do not need to download the WAV files to enter the remix contest, unless of course you want to.
2. Remix the track into your chosen style. All genres are welcome.
3. Submit your remix to Beatportal’s remix website. All entries must include full contact details, telephone number and postal address. Note: If your submission is not accepted, your file is too large. Your MP3 is limited to no more than 10 MB in size.
4. The download phase begins January 27, 2009.
5. The submission phase of the ‘Get This Feeling’ Remix Competition starts on February 3, 2009 12.01am MST and ends on February 16, 2009 at 11.59pm MST.
6. The voting phase of the ‘Get This Feeling’ Remix Competition starts on February 17, 2009 at 12.01am MST and ends on March 3, 2009 at 11.59pm MST.
7. Five remixes each will be submitted as voted for by the Beatportal community and by Beatport staff in the house, electro house, tech house and techno genres for a total of 40 remixes submitted to Cr2 Records, from which four winners across the genres will be chosen by Cr2.
8. Tracks using uncleared samples from sources outside of these ‘Get This Feeling’ parts will be disqualified. An ‘uncleared sample’ is a musical work, loop or sample that you don’t own the copyright for (ie: you didn’t create it). You are free to use samples that were created by you.
9. All remixes submitted for this contest become the legal property of Cr2. Your remix contest submission becomes the legal property of the record label hosting the competition as protection against the release of unauthorized remixes in the form of bootlegs or on other record labels.
10. All trademarks and logos are protected. All rights of the producer and the owner of the recorded work are reserved. Unauthorized copying, hiring, renting, public performance and broadcasting of this record, remix or remix parts is prohibited.
11. You may upload your remix to MySpace and other online sites but it must be clearly named as a ‘Cr2 remix competition entry’ eg:
