Exorcising the ghosts of dubstep, Cottonmouth spins heads and raises blood pressure with his newest release Tubular Bass. The two-track EP features the title track and “Packapunch,” another dancefloor banger with a jazz-inflected bass line and Cottonmouth’s trademark melodic wobble. Fans of Benga
, Flux Pavilion and Skrillex will want the up and coming producer’s newest material for their collection, which he says “Is my interpretation of the Michael Oldfield classic.”
Tubular Bass is Cottonmouth’s fourth release on Permanent Damage Records. His releases have received support from the likes of Kissy Sellout, Detroit Grand Pubahs
and The Love Theme.
After completing a world tour of DJ gigs in early 2011, including stops in Brooklyn NY, Portland OR, Sydney, Aukland, and Brisbaine, Cottonmouth relocated to Australia where he is working on new material and perfecting his live performance. “We’re really excited about the work that Cottonmouth is doing,” says label manager Ben Cooper, “He gets better and better and we can’t wait to hear more.”
Tubular Bass is available on Beatport and other online music stores June 14, 2011.
