Cosmic Kids: Reginald’s Groove
Cosmic Kids: Reginald’s Groove
18 May, 2011 | 3.08AMToday’s Resident Advisor review of the Cosmic Kids’ debut single on Throne of Blood tipped us off to the accompanying video, which plays out like the highlights reel to the best summer ever. Fireworks, BMX, swimming pools, house-party hijinks—where can we sign up?
Cosmic Kids are the duo of Ron Poznansky and Dan Terndrup, a couple of young guns who are out to prove that there’s more to LA’s dance scene than fluo shades and electro bangers; ”Reginald’s Groove” is a chord-heavy deep-house number that ought to appeal to fans of Hot Natured, recent Crosstown Rebels, and Permanent Vacation, classic without being too aggressively retro. The remixes, from Juan MacLean
, Bicep, and Classixx, are uniformly killer as well.
For more Cosmic Kids, check out their recent remixes for the Future Classic
artist Poolside as well as their track on Kompakt’s Benefit Compilation for Japan. And for more Throne of Blood—the New York label run by The Rapture and James Friedman—see the recent singles from Ulysses and Bicep, plus the debut release from Ford Inc., aka Paul Woolford
and We Love’s Mat Playford, out this week.
