Sebastian Roya and Ynnad Zeugnimod...

Gran Canaria’s Sebastian Roya has released a couple of gems for labels like Connaiseur and Tapas Recordings, and here he pops up on one of the UK’s growing number of smart, minimally-inclined labels for this digital only release, flanked by the impossibly-named Ynnad Zeugnimod.
‘Cosas De Taza’ goes straight for the jugular, featuring a churning bottom end, snares cranked to maximum tautness, and an apocalyptic, thundering kick drum.
It’s functional as hell, but its doomy rolling grooves, replete with ominous vocal snatches and white-hot blasts of rushing noise, are gloriously stout in their impact.
Ynnad Zeugnimod’s ‘Planet London’ is, as its name implies, succinctly reminiscent of an East-End skank-hole populated by funny-haired blokes on Ketamine, which, depending on your disposition, will either sound like hell on earth, or just like any other normal Sunday.
The straight-line monobass, ticking percussion and rasping delays are pretty much standard issue laptop-techno 2007.
But let’s not be too harsh – in the right environment the queasy lurches and wibbling reverbs will certainly work a treat.
