Israel continues to churn out accomplished progressive house and trance producers at an impressive rate (there must be something in the water that stimulates dark melodies and hypnotism), and Yotopia are the latest duo to offer a tasty album of darkly satisfying melodic club cuts.

The Tel Aviv-based duo’s new album ‘Connect The Dots’ blurs the lines between progressive house and trance with ease, and the LP flows with the kind of ease one would expect from a well planned DJ set.

There is a level of maturity and an overriding concept on ‘Connect The Dots’ that stems from the fact that Yotopia have been releasing music for the best part of a decade.

‘Connect The Dots’ is their sophomore longplayer offering following their debut ‘Point Blank’ in 2005, and album cuts like ‘Spunk’ and ‘Sleepless Hippies’ sum up the LP’s overall feeling: well crafted house and techno cocooned in layers upon layers of trance melodies.

If you’re looking for diversity and moving vantage points ‘Connect The Dots’ will not satisfy your curiosity, but if it is floor-friendly intelligent progressive trance you’re after, look no further.
