Coming Up: CDR @ Chez Jacki, Berlin

The CDR—or recordable compact disc—represents mobility and mutability, so it’s only fitting that London’s CDR party has finally come to Berlin.

Attica Blues‘ Tony Nwachukwu founded the event almost 10 years ago at London’s Plastic People as a forum for producers to share their works in progress—and, more importantly, to hear them on one of the city’s best sound systems.

Now, Nwachukwu has set up a satellite edition of CDR at Berlin’s Chez Jacki. Last month’s inaugural edition included an Ableton workshop from Innervisions artists Âme before Nwachukwu and Dirk Rumpff took to the decks to spin the night’s submissions to a packed house. Tomorrow’s event will include a tech talk with Ewan Pearson and Soundcloud co-founder Eric Wahlforss, followed by the Open CDR program.
