Coming Soon: PromoOne
23 October, 2007 | 3.36PM- Section: Music News Topics: Jonas Tempel Blog
Let’s face it, promoting music is not easy. Managing mailing lists and delivering promos to DJs and press can be a real hassle. In the very near future, Beatport will offer our label partners a new, integrated solution for global digital promotion. This new service is aptly called PromoOne and will launch into beta by spring 2008.
The concept is to combine the best of digital promotional services with a powerful and user friendly delivery platform. We’ve teamed with Prohibition digital to bring this new service to life. Labels will use PromoOne to promote their music to influential DJs and press around the world, and Beatport will become the delivery platform providing a simple interface for downloading and posting comments. By merging these two teams, we are creating a very powerful and effective promotion network that allows labels to pinpoint their promotion down to the DJ.
Currently, this level of precision in digital promotion has been incredibly hard and expensive to achieve. Services exist, but none have the reach of Beatport. With this new partnership, our goal is to make it possible for all of Beatport’s label partners to deliver their promotional content with ease.
I’ll continue to blog about the service in the coming months. There are lots of things that we are, of course, not talking about yet. There are ideas and technologies that are coming into focus that make this new service very exciting to help create.
And, as always, I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback.
