Acoustic excellence and sleek design combine in the new German designed and crafted Cubo CD player DAB / FM radio, alarm clock from Sonoro.

Those damn Germans, first they revolutionise techno and now they’re building our alarm clocks!

I’m German of course.

Anyways, these are pretty funky, and since we at Beatportal have a rather intellectual clientele, we thought we’d tell you about these smart units that are only initially available in the very posh Selfridges and Harrods, as far as the UK is concerned.

According to the press release:

“The solid wood casing delivers unrivalled clarity of sound and is housed in 10 finishes to suit every setting and taste including high gloss (pink, red, yellow ,green, silver, black and white) and timeless natural wooden classics (cherry, maple and walnut).”

It sounds like a veritable fruit salad of sound.

The cute exterior is matched with commensurate technology inside.

Cubo is built with a full range speaker and integrated with a bass-reflex tube, providing music nerds with a lustrous, natural sound around the home or office.

Good for techno then, by the sounds of it.

An amber backlit display is dimmable when used as a bedside alarm clock, a snooze button allows for extra minutes under the duvet whilst the DAB/FM radio with PLL tuner has capacity for 6 preset stations.

Not that you’d want to wake up imminently after a rave, unless it’s a signal to head to the Ibiza beach.

In case you were wondering, these stylish units house a CD player, DAB radio and alarm clock with an added 3.5mm connection for your iPod or MP3 player.
