As Berlin steadily rises to the top as far as becoming the location for cutting-edge electronic music and culture, c/o pop gears up to celebrate their fifth anniversary. 

The yearly festival, which is a combination of urban pop culture and music fair/conference, takes place from August 13-17 2008.

2007 saw a wildly successful festival, and in the school of thought that one shouldn’t change a winning formula, many of the same elements will remain in place for this year’s affair.

In addition to five full days of music and pop culture, serious industry professionals can engage in a music and media forum and conference.

This will be the second year of the “Europareise” project, an international summit meeting of 70 European festival organizers; and also the second time around for the “Asia-Pacific Platter”, an inter-cultural exchange program which promotes cooperation between electronic musicians from Germany, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Previous editions of c/o pop have featured acts like Franz Ferdinand, M.I.A., The MFA, Sven Vath, DJ Koze [pictured], Laurent Garnier and Apparat, so expect as diverse a line-up for this year.

Since this festival is all about innovation, discovery and musical openness, this year will introduce the festival’s first film screenings, alongside inventive programming, exhibitions, new venues, and secret special events.
