Cluster Sound working on expandable library
18 May, 2008 | 9.19PMCluster Sound, a new Italian soundware company, has released the Vocal Defrag XPander Pack, which is a free add-on to their Tech Producer DSP system.
To backtrack, in February the company released its flagship product (Tech Producer DSP), which boasted 12 gigs of files in all sorts of formats including Wave, REX2, Ableton Clips and Instruments, Kontakt and many more.
Offering a large set of sounds for a wide array of styles was quite the entry into the market, but in April they added their first XPander packs, named Modular NoiseQ and Analog OSCar.
The synth expansions brought the library up to 13.5 gigs, and now with the release of Vocal Defrag, the library sits at just below 14 gigs.
The library aims to be 18 gigs in size by the end of 2008.
This is an interesting concept in the soundware business, since often you buy a product and any add-ons will cost you a set price.
By offering a set of free add-ons to an already large bank, Cluster Sound is set to be included on many dance productions this year.
XPander 03 Vocal Defrag includes 440 Wave and REX2 files, as well as 440 Ableton Clips and Instruments.
The company describes it as, “A great collection of fragmented phrases, disjointed voices, scratched, ultra-filtered and synth-like vocals—an inspiring library for your tech-based productions”.
It is available for free to all registered users.
