Chris Barratt is one to watch

With remixes for such astute labels as Yoshitoshi, Stealth, Frenetic and Rebirth, you could say Chris Barratt is one to watch this year — and you’d be right.

Now paired with Suesse Records, the two join forces for the low-fi ‘Teardrop’, a moody atmospheric original production with its simplicity being its most dangerous attribute.

Haunting chords layer a growling driving bassline that just sounds better with each successive play.

It’s been a good past twelve months for Suesse, and 2008 looks like going the same way with a release schedule that will include further tasty treats from Drew Scott, Payami and Richard Colman.

As to rising star, Chris Barratt, ‘Teardrop’ remixes come from one of Chris’ current influences, Jim Rivers, who follows a techier path.

While label head Richard Colman takes time out of the office to drop his own blend of progressive grooves over electro beats and euphoric breakdowns.
