Chart: Famous When Dead VI
Chart: Famous When Dead VI
Todd Terje [Various]
16 November, 2008 | 10.05PMTitled after the compilation series that highlights their standouts of the year, Playhouse’s Norwegian wunderkind Todd Terje
presents us with a new disco-centric chart on Beatport.
Responsible for some of the hottest disco remixes and productions that have been coming down the pike nonstop lately, Terje has compiled some of his personal faves, including his own smoky and richly textured exotic rework of Simon Baker’s ‘Plastik’ from last summer, also featured on the actual compilation.
Among the other glowing gems you’ll find Maurice Fulton’s bouncing house rework of Crazy P’s ‘Lie Lost’ and Ost & Kjex’s jokey yet eerily unnerving ‘Boston Food Strangler’, reworked by Full Pup labelmates Discjokked.
Terje also tips his hat to the old school with an update of the classic ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life’ from Mirage, and injects a bit of chill into the stream with Ame’s relaxed ‘Doldrums’.
Overall, this selection takes us on an exciting and picturesque ride into the lush and varied landscape of current electronic music.
