C’est La Vie
Joseph Capriati [Analytictrail]

The techno scene may be flourishing worldwide but in Italy its on fire.
Labels like Minus claim that the country is generating more world class records than any other and a whole new generation of stars are emerging in the minimal techno explosion to take the country away from the Italian house sound made famous by DJs like Claudio Cocculoto in the 1990s.
Now stars like Joseh Capriati are creating minimal wigouts like his latest EP for Analytictrail that are pure dancefloor firestarters.
The title track ‘C’est La Vie’ is stomping peak-time techno built around surges of white noise that plunge into a rolling bassline and skippy hats all anchored by a kick heavy enough to leave a crater in the dancefloor in its wake.
To his credit, it doesn’t stop there, there isn’t a flawed track on this release.
‘Menestrello’ is more head-down moody minimal.
Oasi’s alien synths are propped up by a freight train of funk and Poker D’Assi is more heavy techno like the EP’s title track.
If you bought his other excellent and recent ‘Weekend EP’ then you’ll love this: Peak-time minimal that proves Italy is no soft touch.
