5 September, 2008 | 5.59PMHotflush Recordings has become synonymous with releasing more experimental broken beats, and is a label not to be pigeonholed at any rate.
So in standard tradition comes the latest release, a track beautifully textured in sounds, with hallowed beats and stabbing snare crashes.
It evolves the original 2-step track into something not only more contemporised but deep and beautiful.
Search & Destroy and Toasty (aka. Toastyboy), have been producing break-step beats for years now, Toasty being infamous for the massive ‘The Knowledge’ back in 2004.
But combined together on this one track, Toasty has rendered the original into a sublime, lush ode to rival contemporary dubstep tracks, through its uniqueness and deep undercurrents.
Still maintaining its off-beats and subtle influences of garage the track sounds like it’s been manufactured in a giant factory. The echoes and reverbs employed have been borrowed from techno, whilst the haunting notes ride underneath the beats.
