But the current revival of ‘70s-era dancefloor music the way the underground heads experienced it, is a family-orchestrated affair.
In Flagranti - or Sasha Crnobrnja and Alex Gloor - are part of the brood, taking cues from their friends and cohorts, Tim Goldsworthy and James Murphy.
The Brooklyn, NY-based duo’s latest original is a dark, psychedelic take on cowbell-disco.
But in the hands of DFA bros Holy Ghost!, it becomes a grunting, humping, spy-guitar-laden romp.
We can close our eyes and imagine this one pounding from the speakers at DJ Francis Grasso’s Salvation (circa 1968).
