Brits love techno: Google’s top searches 2007
12 December, 2007 | 3.06PMIn a startling article this week, Britain’s leading tabloid The Sun revealed that the phrase ‘I Love Techno’ is one of the most searched for items on Google in the UK.
The web search engine released its annual list of what web users looked for – and ‘I Love Techno’ was 2nd only to ‘I Love Movies’ in the love category.
Topping the hate category is ‘I Hate Ronaldo’ - a reference to Manchester United footballer Cristiano Ronaldo - which turned out to be one of the most popular phrases searched on Google in 2007.
I Love Techno is the name of Belgium’s annual techno festival which regularly attracts upwards of 35,000 clubbers.
But it’s unclear whether ‘I Love Techno’ was searched for by users looking for information on the festival, or they simply do.
Either way, it goes to prove that techno is what people want.
