British embassy offers Grooverider assistance for Dubai arrest
5 December, 2007 | 9.50AM- Section: Music News Topics: Beatport Blog
The British embassy in the United Arab Emirates has offered assistance to UK drum & bass king Grooverider, who was arrested in Dubai last week after airport police allegedly found cannabis and hardcore pornography in his record bag.
Radio 1 DJ Grooverider faces jail or deportation if found guilty, and at this time the BBC has not responded to the matter.
The Dubai promoter who booked Grooverider has claimed a full refund from the DJ’s management company in London for about $8,200, citing financial losses, as Grooverider was busted before he spun his first record.
