Brazil’s technobrega scene represents new model for digital age

This week CNN reported on Brazil’s thriving technobrega scene, which is expanding at an incredible rate thanks to producers and DJs who see illegal filesharing and piracy as a marketing tool rather than intellectual property theft.

Fundamentally, the technobrega scene is growing exponentially because of illegal mix tapes being sold on the streets, much like how the underground hip hop scene in the US relies upon the illegal distribution of music.
