27 August, 2008 | 5.49AMThree years after its foundation, label Conteúdo Records - a pioneer on free web artist selection and distribution - counts a total of 15,000 downloads.
And now, after a whole year without updates it comes back to life with a totally new website and catalog.
Directors Tadeus Mucelli (DJ Tee) and Eduardo Duarte (Duduart) have redeveloped the project ever since.
What was only a netlabel with free downloads has evolved into an international digital recording label, offering mp3 music for sale. The
previous catalog featuring 14 EPs from different artists will remain online and new releases will be constantly joining it. A paid catalog is the company’s most important new feature, and it will be made available in the world’s main online content stores
THE LABEL
The label’s purpose is to sell digital music content to DJs and to the general public. Tracks will be sold in more than 30 online stores and mobile network operator catalogs. Paid downloads will support the artists’ insertion in the professional music industry. Business partnerships have been established with
Imusica (for Brazil), which will distribute the label’s releases in MSN Brazil and Itunes through its own Imusica sales portal, and Symphonic Distribution (for the rest of the world), which will make tracks available on main stores.
NETLABEL ( Free CATALOG)
The netlabel’s purpose will keep on being the introduction of new music production talents. Direct free downloads will be made available from the website. Its new releases will include experimental projects, since they currently have a limited acceptance by the music industry. In its third generation, the website will be online soon. Basic features li
NEW WEBSITE
In its third generation, the website will be online soon. Basic features like artist infos and new release announcements will be included, just like the download pages offering high quality 320 Kbps mp3 files.
THE NEW PAID CATALOG (new)
The new paid catalog will be displayed at the label’s website with music samples. Buyers will be redirected to their favourite online stores. Two digital albums are on their way to be released soon. The first one will be “Meeting of good souls - Modern Process”, by Max Underson from São Paulo, and the second “Pseudonime” by Belo Horizonte producer 3nity.
There will be additional info provided about the label on its Myspace
www.myspace.com/conteudorecords and Last.fm www.last.fm/label/conteudo+records pages.
HISTORY
Conteudo Records is an electronic music label founded in 2005 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, by DJs/producers Tadeus Mucelli (Tee), Samuel Parrela (Menorah) and Eduardo Duarte (Duduart). They intended to release their own projects, in addition to support new and established artists who shared their musical ideology.
Long ago, the label ceased to be simply an instrument of artist and track divulgation. The total amount of downloads kept increasing after each new release, and some tracks were downloaded more than 1.000 times each one. 75 % of all downloads were from Europe, North America and Asia. Conteudo has become a reference to its newer counterparts and the main Brazilian newspaper Folha de São Paulo displayed a first page headline about it on its culture pages, for its “digital inclusion work”.
