Bomb Alert! Cevin Fisher ‘The Freaks Come Out’ new remixes

Bomb Alert! Cevin Fisher’s defining late 90s house anthem ‘The Freaks Come Out’ is set for a double dose of new remixes this spring/summer, 10 years after the track conquered clubland the world over.

Reworkings by Anil Chawla, Tim Davidson and Eric Entrena are included in Part 1 of the 10th anniversary mixes, but the real jewel comes from fast-rising Brighton-based house producers Prok & Fitch [a], who’ve turned in one of their mixes to date.

Hear a sneak peak after the jump.

Paying full homage to the original, Prok & Fitch have used the track’s famous vocal to create a memorable build up that drops into a rolling bassline-heavy groove not too dissimilar to Fisher’s famous cut.

But added vocal FX, driving house beats and an updated version of that famous pad line all equates to one big future hit.

I’ve always been in two minds about re-releasing classics as new mixes, but in this case, the endeavour was well worth the effort.

This will induce dancefloor hysteria wherever its played.

The first set of remixes is due out early April, and another batch of “laid back” remixes of ‘The Freaks Come Out’ is due to appear in July, from Benham & Clark, Gabriel Robella, Darren Flecta and Sharp & Smooth.
