Blu Mar Ten continue path with ‘Why Me, Why Now’
21 December, 2007 | 1.10PM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
Blu Mar Ten have been making great music for almost a decade now - Leo Wyndham and Chris Marigold, with new addition Michael Tognarelli – the driving force behind the established within the drum & bass act.
With supporters including a diverse set of DJs such as Tom ‘The Jedi’ Middleton, Felix da Housecat, Ben Watt, Carl Cox, Lee Burridge, Erol Alkan and Mary Anne Hobbs, the group defy pigeonholing.
Their recent album release, ‘Black Water’ with its lushness expansive soundscapes has won many new fans too.
One Week To Live called it “a truly epic trip...’Cinematic’ isn’t the word”, while Knowledge referred to it as essential listing and “a dazzling collection of songs taking in a vast array of styles and influences.”
It’s all true of course, and their current single ‘Why Me, Why Now’ via Exceptional Records underscores the critic’s praise.
Ethereal and dream-inducing in its original album form featuring the vocals of Alexis Strum, the club maker comes from electronic greats Cicada who offer their now trademark clean, crisp and driving template to create another stark, sexy post-modernistic pastiche of über cool.
