Bjork and others cancel their ‘WIld in the Country’ performances
2 July, 2008 | 8.23PMApparently, “The show must go on” is a motto that the Wild In The Country Festival’s organizers are plenty familiar with.
Due to be the Icelandic singer’s only UK appearance this season, Bjork has canceled her headlining performance at the event, citing its organization as “volatile”.
Additionally, experimental band Battles has confirmed they have also pulled out of the festival.
Bjork was due to headline this coming Saturday, July 5.
A message posted on Bjork’s official website states:
‘As a result of significant problems with the event, including its staging, sound and lighting it is no longer possible for her to perform.’
The Knebworth Park festival still boasts an intriguingly stellar line-up, however, so although it may not all be “full of love” from Bjork, it’s still all good.
