Sometimes, every so often a dance record comes along which is destined for the pop charts. Super Mal [a] and Luciana [a] have seemingly hit the nail on the head with the title for their new single ‘Bigger Than Big’ - it simply is.

Riding high on last summer’s surprise electro house smash with Bodyrox ‘Yeah Yeah’, Luciana returns having been nominated for an Ivor Novello award with this cool urban electro breaks record.

This time her vocals are the main point; Super Mal’s Daft-Punk-esque beats and synths are simply a complimentary backing track to what is potentially a top 10 pop hit.

But the radio-friendly nature of ‘Bigger Than Big’ need not scare off the club heads - there’s an instrumental version that will rip apart most dancefloors and Britain’s Seb Fontaine appears with a rare remix in collaboration with Alex Blanco.

Their chunky house drums and electro stabs are the total opposite to the original version - if Luciana and Super Mal are perfect for a summer drive, Fontaine and Blanco’s heads down remix belongs in a dark and sweaty club that hasn’t ever seen the light of day.

And this is just the start of Luciana’s rise to stardom.

She is tactically, and rather cleverly, using credible dance music producers such as Bodyrox, Super Mal, Martijn Ten Velden and Mark Knight to develop a unique artist personality that has the vibrancy and vitality of electronic club music, but at the same time she is is strong, street-wise and appeals to the masses.

How much longer dance music will fulfill her desires is anyone’s guess.
