Beatportal gets an upgrade

Regular users of Beatportal might have noticed a few changes to our user interface recently, designed to make Beatportal more useful and simpler to use.

Here is a list of all the changes we’ve made recently.

1. Filed Under links

Above every post now there are ‘Filed Under’ links which show the topics an article has been tagged with. If you click one of those links, it takes you to a page displaying all the posts that have been tagged with that word.

This is particularly useful if you want to read more about a particular artist or a particular subject (eg: technology).

2. Genre buttons for Music Recommendations

Every Music Recommendation now displays the genres it relates to as genre buttons at the top of the post. If you click a genre button, it will take you to a genre-specific page that displays all the Music Recommendations for that genre.

So if you only like ‘techno’, click the ‘techno’ button and you’ll be able to read all of the latest techno Music Recommendations.

3. New Improved Search

One of the fastest ways to find content on Beatportal is to search for it, using the search in the top left of the site.

Search Results are now ranked, meaning posts that mention the search term the most go to the top of the pile.
