Beatport Player…. Mixer?!

Beatport Player…. Mixer?!

We’ve had a number of users tell us that a great feature for Beatport.com would be to add a dual-track preview player with simple pitch control. Adding a feature like this could allow for rough dj-style ‘mixing’ of previews from Beatport.com in your browser. Well, if you think that sounds fun… so do we, and we’ve got some really cool stuff in the works that will blow you guys away. Until then… try your hand at mixing two tracks from the dual Beatport Player stack below. We’ll be making some exciting announcements this summer, so stay tuned!

It will take some timing and a little luck to find two tracks that match, and although a bit crude, it’s possible to mix Beatport tracks right from your browser!

Tips:

--Clicking repeatedly on track titles in the player’s playlist produces a stutter-like effects and is the quickest ‘play’ method

--Each player has it’s own volume control, and they work independently, so fading tracks in and out is possible.

--Try your hand at ‘flippin doubles’ with two of the same tracks. Offset the start times just right, and you can get some cool results (and the tracks are always the same BPM...)

--You can create your own Beatport Player ‘mix-up page’ by embedding 2, 4 or even 8 players side-by-side on any HTML page

Have fun! Tell us about your ideas and experiences in the comments below!
