Beatport Live presents Shaun Reeves & Bill Patrick

Things got extra woozy in Beatport’s Berlin office last week when Bill Patrick and Shaun Reeves took over our Ustream channel for an exquisite, two-hour B2B session of deepest house.

Shaun Reeves, of course, is one quarter of the Visionquest crew, whose members and eponymous label were the toast of 2011. Bill Patrick, meanwhile, is the quintessential DJs’ DJ, a crack(ed) selector who loves to lead listeners down rabbit holes of his own intuitive design.

You’re really not going to want to miss this one—read on to check out the archived audio and video of the session, and read a brief interview with the prosecco-loving Mr. Patrick. While you’re at it, don’t miss his Drunk on Prosecco Beatport Top 10.

BEATPORTAL: Thanks for stopping by Beatport to play for us! What’s it like to play in the Beatport booth, and have you done other live Internet mixes like this?

BILL PATRICK: Playing in the Beatport booth was a blast. I’ve done a live internet thing for RTS radio in Berlin but this one was more fun due to the flowing prosecco and Christmas party vibe going on in the Beatport office.

Could you tell us a little about your track selection today? How did you pick out tracks for the mix, and what tunes are you particularly feeling right now?

The track selection is totally random, off the cuff, whatever feels right at the moment. Playing back to back with Shaun is always fun and super easy. We have similar taste in music so finding the right track to play after his is always easy. Some of the tunes I’ve been feeling have been the new Nivek Tsoy, these guys Arcasenal from Germany have some nice deep gems, and the new David K album coming out on Supplement Facts.

Are there any upfront, unreleased tracks you played that we should be keeping our eyes open for?

Yes, like I mentioned above, I played a new David K that will be out soon as well as a beautiful track by Uner that isn’t signed yet.

What’s your DJ setup like? Do you play with Traktor, Serato, Ableton, CDJs, or something else?

I love this question. Yes, I play with CDs and vinyl aka “or something else.”

For listeners who want to check you out in person, could you tell us about any club residencies you may have, and where you’ll be touring next?

I’m playing Dec 16th in London with Art Department and the 17th in Bulgaria and then heading down to South America to play Cartagena for New Years Eve. I’m really excited about that. Always a good time down there and some sun in January is never a bad thing. You can check out all my dates on my Facebook page.
