Beatport in the news, June 11th
11 June, 2007 | 6.40AMThe Internet is an amazing place. Here’s what the world is saying about Beatport today.
Beanfield
‘Tides’
Beanfield’s ‘Tides’ was hanging around on vinyl for a month or so at Phonica but is also now available at Beatport. It’s actually the third Ripperton track that has come out in the last week or so, and probably the best of this three strong release.

Talented UK producer Funkagenda has served his time around studios for a long time and it shows. His name is now synonymous with quality house music and his fresh mix of tuneful club originals and remixes are getting him well deserved attention.
Once resident at his hometown club ‘Godskitchen’ in Birmingham and now a global DJ in every sense, he’s produced with Mark Knight and Trophy Twins, remixed the likes of Underworld, Hardfloor and Sasha and has just brought out a great remix of the classic ‘Lustral’ track ‘Everytime’ on Baroque.
You can pick up his (almost) full catalogue at Beatport:

R-Type
‘My Favourite Thing’ - New remixes
Italian label Dirty House Music announces two massive remixes provided by DJ Maurice Noah, of R-Type’s electro house 2007 track ‘My Favourite Thing’.
Maurice Noah’s electroteen remix puts a great upbeat slant on the track. Maurice Noah’s Outpost31 remix is deep and rolling with a very beautiful break!

Want some electrofied disco? Want some sharp beats and wobbling basslines? If your answer is yes, which it is, then look no further because we´ve got a real treat for you courtesy of Beautycase Records and Norwegian producer Tetsuo. His latest single ‘Disco Team’ is the perfect Saturday gift for the dancefloor. Besides the magnificent original there are remixes by our good friend Napsugar and Kosta Gitane featured on this 12”, making it an essential Beautycase release.

Van Lazarux
‘Ransom EP’
Van Lazarux ‘Ransom EP’ (Neuroscience Deep): The original is nice. Deep and groovey yet brooding. Nice hypnotic flow to it. Support from Matt Darey, Kenneth Thomas, StereoK, Flash Brothers, Matt Rowan, Ché Armstrong, Tom Bailey and more radio/tracklist support.

Franz & Shape
‘Acceleration’
Franz & Shape from Italy recently released their first album ‘Acceleration’ on Relish Recordings, the steadily trendsetting label by Headman from Switzerland which covers a wide range of finer dance music and is also the musical home of acts like Yuksek and David Gilmour Girls.
Out now on Relish is an EP with three brand new remixes for Franz & Shape featuring energetic new-rave club bangers by label mates Riot In Belgium from Australia and Kissy Sell Out from Essex as well as a great Moroder-esque space disco affair by Tronik Youth (who is going to drop his first single soon).
Sorry about the brief hiatus. Been snowed under this week with real-life commitments and the like. Alas, I am back, back with simple oscillator movements, persistent beats and general goodness. Roman Salzger is a top purveyor of German tech-house. Get all of his fine recordings from Beatport.

Beatport Feeding
Everybody’s talking about rich media experiences and how that’s where it’s at. Beatport is the most complex rich media (Flash) site I’ve seen. And here is the best interface to Beatport’s most sought after data, new releases. Food for thought, rich media mavens.
