Beatport Exclusive - Dresden & Johnston release Keep Faith
14 April, 2010 | 1.27AMNew single Keep Faith heralds the long awaited return of producer-cum-legend Dave Dresden
. Now with new partner Mikael Johnston of Mephisto Odyssey
fame and co-writers collaborators John Debo
and Mezo Riccio, Keep Faith is a lush, orchestral, vocal offering that looks set to inflame the airwaves and record boxes of the major players across a plethora of genres from house through to trance.
The Original Mix of Keep Faith is a blockbuster, an anthemic monster where the soaring vocals of Mezo Riccio are lain over reverberating guitars and synthed strings are designed with the dance floor most definitely in mind. On remix duty, the pair draft in some of the hottest young guns around in the shape of Morgan Page
, Christian Luke
, Ultra-Fi vs Save The Robot, Lenny Ruckus & Ana Vida, Darin Epsilon
& Jourdan Bordes and Adam White
. To round the package off, veteran remixer Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero of Eric Morillo’s Subliminal Records fame provides the standout mix that looks to be an across the board dj smash at this year’s Miami Winter Music Conference.
Page delivers a typically elegant edit, bringing the warmer elements of the orchestral arrangement through for a more tempered-down, delicate and progressive feel. Eschewing the main melody in favour of tap-dripping beats and simple piano chords, Australian upstart Christian Luke’s remix smacks of those late night, throbbing, darkened dance floors where it’s all about the stripped back rhythms and deeper grooves. Set to release their own future material on Dresden & Johnston’s Problem Child Rekords, LA-based collaboration Ultra-fi vs Save the Robot (veteran DJ Isiaeak Martin and Israeli Ido Liran respectively) dish up a popping electro house version with just a tinge of trance flowing through for good measure. Finally the UK’s Adam White delivers the intriguingly entitled ‘emalodic’ mix. Going full throttle for the hands in the air, body-rushing variety of trance bound to be snapped up in a second, White shows why Paul Oakenfold has been in his corner all these years.
