Be a Guitar Hero of DJs
Be a Guitar Hero of DJs
8 January, 2008 | 4.00PMTaking a cue from both turntablism and the video game Guitar Hero®, this gent has come up with his own idea of the game — operated with a turntable.
The tech blog Gizmodo pulled this demo from youtube, featuring the modified turntable pulling it off just like a guitar that would normally handle the task.
This isn’t the first time that the idea of turntables have been introduced to video games; Japanese video game maker Konami has already unleashed Beatmania, a DJ simulation game that promises to deliver “the club experience in your living room” — sans having to actually speak to anyone.
While the turntable in this demonstration is used for scratching, it’s not fully compatible with a standard DJ set-up, which involves actually playing a cut here and there, asking the question of whether or not this really is a revolutionary take for a turntables in video games, or is it just a new device with which to use for Guitar Hero®?
