Baz Lalor sirens his arrival
24 September, 2008 | 11.26PMBaz Lalor’s debut release, ‘Sirens’, is out now on Trancetribe Recordings
with a Scott Richardson
remix on the flip.
Although being only a newcomer to the Australian trance community, Baz Lalor shows no signs of being a passive contender if this solid track is anything to go by. Suzy Solar has called it a ‘great track’, and it has also seen support from Haris C, Scott Richardson and others.
Sirens is one of those tracks that makes you snap straight back to reality from your heads down serious dancefloor-business moments. You take a second to look around and remind yourself the rest of the world is still there, and then you get sucked right back into it.
The original mix is laden with a sublime piano melody complemented by a wailing counter-melody that brings relevance to the name. Combine this with a solid bassline and some crisp percussion and you have yourself one seriously awesome Trance experience.
If you get lost in it so deep that its over before you realise, there’s also an extended mix that features a couple of extra surprises, and a Scott Richardson remix sporting some percussion that seems to be on holiday from a psytrance tune.
All in all, a solid release on all three sides. Check it out now at Beatport.com
