Where Berlin’s iconic Bar25 until recently stood, there’s now just snow and rubble. But the founders’ dream of documenting the club’s remarkable run continues apace. This morning they sent out an email announcing the most recent milestone in their documentary film project.

“Most valued Supporters! Dearest Friends!

All of us at *25Films hope that you are currently rubbing your well filled tummies while being snug up next to your fireplace listening to the joyful giggles of your happy children.

Maybe instead you are enjoying a mango lassie at one of the most beautiful beaches somewhere at the other end of the world.

Whichever your location *25Films are manning the fort back here in Berlin on our computers.

1 month and 25 days after the spectacular ceremonial parting of Bar 25 from its former abode at Holzmarkt Str. we have a 6 terrabyte film-snippet-party-popper that is now archived, structured and backed up. 

In addition we have evaluated all our interviews and recorded even more. 

Thanks to your clicks, comments and especially your generous donations on the Inkubato site we were able to ignore the rejection letters from film funding agencies and be reassured that our daily labour is appreciated and that we can confidently believe in our film.

After all, one day we DO want to be sitting next to you at that beautiful beach on the other end of the world watching an exclusive copy on an ancient television set reminiscing about Berlin and we DO want to proudly present the film to our grandchildren ... and we DO want to make a film that Berlin as a global city needs.

These days wishes really come true.
