Authorities want to close DC10 for a year
12 August, 2008 | 1.25PMAt the beginning of the season, DC10 received a rude start when ordered by local authorities to shut down for 57 days to “serve the remainder” of the 60-day sentence imposed upon them from the previous year.
Now, set to re-open this coming weekend with a Circo Loco party to kick things off, according to ibiza-voice.com a new sanction has been issued: A full year closing and a fine of 300,000 Euros—the maximum penalty.
The dispute this time revolves around the club’s legal capacity of a mere 68 people, and “sound pollution” violations.
According to ibiza-voice: “DC10 can contest the decision, they have one month to do so. The club should then be able to open next weekend till the end of the season.”
However, it appears that the forces that be are intent on making things extremely difficult for this club - a former backbone of the Ibizan landscape - to kick into gear this year, and it may be a foreboding omen of what’s to come.
