31 January, 2009 | 6.35PMThe term progressive trance, like its cousin progressive house, was coined as a way to describe music that is a little more forward-thinking than the genre it stems from.
London-based DJ and producer Sandrino Beesley and studio pal Danny Minkella do a fine job of giving us more than the standard trance record with ‘Aurora’.
All the great hypnotism and atmosphere of trance is still prevalent on ‘Aurora’, but the stripped back, repetitive nature of the music compounds its progressive nature.
The relatively slow BPM count will help its adoption by prog DJs, who admittedly must cast their nets wider these days when fishing for new tunes.
