Atavism
Remo-con [Hellhouse Recordings]
29 August, 2007 | 11.00AM- Section: Music Reviews
Japanese DJ / producer Remo-con is turning up the heat on dancefloors this summer with some stunning productions.
His tearing tech trance cut ‘Cold Front’ was signed, somewhat surprisingly, by the uber-cool Anjunabeats, and now ‘Atavism’ has been sensibly snapped up by Yoji Biomehanika’s legendary Hellhouse imprint.
Essentially a hard dance track with a techno edge, just like a Japanese karate expert ‘Atavism’ keeps you alert and on your toes throughout as all manner of unexpected shots are thrown at you with jabbing synths, retro rave stabs, hard hitting beats and twisted “just feel it” vocals attacking from all angles.
This ensures the dancefloor is bombarded with plenty of catchy and crazy hooks.
Hellhouse head to Europe for the remix treatment with Scott Mac and Mac Zimms doing their Mac & Mac thing and punching above their weight to produce another heavyweight tech trance cut that will certainly sort out the men from the boys on the dancefloor.
