Arthur Deep ‘Artificial Harmonies’ [Proton]

Evolution for an artist doesn’t come lightly.

Taking the sounds one is known for and elevating them to the next level is a required but rare step for a producer to take, often new production techniques and styles come in to play that asks the artist and his fans to take a leap of faith. Arthur Abidzhba, aka Arthur Deep, has made such a leap in his debut EP for Proton Music.

With music appearing on Tilth, Morphosis, Silk Digital, Carica, and Proton Particles, Arthur has established himself as an aspiring underground Progressive House artist. His tracks have had the support of Eelke Kleijn, Greg Benz, Mango, and Jay Epoch. But now his music has matured a bit, strongly more analog. Crisply produced. From the haunting breaks of “Demonstraight” to the genuinely uplifting “White Park” and “Waterchip”, the “Artificial Harmonies” EP showcases what Proton Music believes will be the making of a newly established Arthur Deep.

Arthur, along with many of Proton’s other featured artists this year, hails from Russia. Labels like Silk Digital & Deepology, artists like Mango & Ormatie, have turned Russia into an epicenter of lush, deep, melodic house. Is it something in the water?
