Veteran engineer and head of Frisbee Paul Brtschitsch has already gained props this year for both his solo work and his collaborations with Mobilee’s Anja Schneider, and now he’s back alongside hotly-tipped techno femme Cio D’or.

Combining his flair for dubbed out echoes and her pulsing melodic tendencies, ‘Aroma EP’ offers dancefloor boom and pastoral headiness in equal measure.

‘Safran’ is the EP’s heaviest cut, its rolling midrange shards harnessed by granular synth flutters and elegantly crashing percussion.

Flip cut ‘Ginger’ is more reflective in mood, with distant pulses giving way to a sweet guitar lick and gently rattling hats.

As an added bonus, there’s also the beatless ambience of ‘Kurkuma’, which lifts the shimmering plucks of ‘Ginger’ and lets them drift off into the ether.

Deep, charming techno from an effective combination of talents.
