Another hit with Groove Junkies ‘Work It Out’
17 March, 2008 | 1.01PM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
If you’ve liked the Groove Junkies previous recordings (and anyone that knows me will know what a huge fan I am of Evan Landes and Parrish Wintersmith’s productions), chances are you’ll like their latest MoreHouse release too.
On ‘Work It Out’ the LA-duo continues to climb the ladder of the classy garage vocal market with another equally strong number fronted by Wendy Brune (a singer who has shared the stage with iconic artist as Chaka Khan, Barry White and even Ray Charles).
A cool, crisp and very clean production lays down a simple drum pattern for the vocals to wrap around and deliver in near-anthemic fashion style.
Already shaping up as one-to-watch for Miami, there’s seven polished and honed mixes that work the subtle melody perfectly for those into soul-etched bar grooves with gospel undertones.
My favourite of which are the M Sol Afro Mix and GJs Funk Fusion Dub.
