Announcing the 7th annual Beatport Beach Party
28 January, 2011 | 4.13AMFor weeks now, members of the Beatport community have been emailing to ask about our plans for Miami. At long last, all can be revealed.
Beatport will be bringing its seventh annual Beatport Beach Party to Miami’s Gansevoort Hotel during the traditional last weekend in March—a period that many are calling Miami Music Week—coinciding with Ultra Music Festival and the hundreds of club events and pool parties programmed around it.
From Wednesday, March 23 until Sunday, March 27, Beatport’s free event will feature over 50 performances from the world’s top DJs including Richie Hawtin
, Steve Angello
, and Dubfire
, to name just a few. Hawtin will also curate an entire day of performances showcasing various artists. In addition to four days of live acts, the Beatport Beach Party will include discussions and product demonstrations from leading audio production and DJ hardware and software companies, including Pioneer DJ.
As a finale to the Beatport Beach Party, on Sunday, March 27, the Gansevoort will host the first ever live presentation of the Beatport Music Awards. Recognizing electronic dance music’s top talent across a variety of genres and categories, this year’s BMAs ceremony will be hosted by none other than Tommy Lee—that’s right, that one: the current trouble-making electro-house DJ, visualist and Motley Crüe drummer. (We can only hope he brings his drum kit.)
During the four days of DJs, live PAs, and product demonstrations, the Beatport Music Services team will also host a Q&A panel that will grant artists and labels a chance to ask questions and get tips on the most effective ways to market their music on Beatport.
Additional info and updates regarding talent line-up, panels and demos will be announced shortly. In the meantime, visit Beatport on Facebook and follow @Beatport on Twitter.
We’ll see you at the Gansevoort!
