Anderson Noise: Crooked Mouth
Anderson Noise: Crooked Mouth
7 April, 2011 | 5.01AMWhile we’re in a Brazilian frame of mind, allow us to direct your attention to “Crooked Mouth,” the new single from Anderson Noise
. Originally produced in 2008, at the height of minimal, it finally gets a release on Tronic
—and turns out to be an opportunity to reclaim the genre from all the naysaying. In addition to the original mix and a 2008 edit from the producer’s brother, Alvinho L Noise, Anderson Noise gives it a fresh rework for 2011, honing in on a lean, techno groove without abandoning the track’s essential less-is-more aesthetic. Further remixes from Davide Marchesiello, Caiwo, and Re Dupre extend its range, with tech-house accents and guttural bass.
The video, by Toro Productions’ Cadu Porto de Oliveira, is pieced together from shots Anderson made with his mobile phone during a single weekend, creating a clever sense of disassociation between music and image.
