Allen & Heath launch Xone DJ headphones

Not content with kicking ass in the mixers arena, Allen & Heath have unveiled some sexy new DJ headphones designed to compliment their Xone DJ mixers.

In geek speak terms, the XD-53 headphones incorporate a circumaural isolation design which provide high level isolation from ambient noise.

Basically, the XD-53s cover your ears and cut out a lot of annoying noise so that hopefully you don’t screw up as many mixes.

Andy Rigby-Jones, head of design for Allen & Heath’s Xone range commented: “The Xone range of DJ mixers has a staunchly loyal following and many customers were asking if we could design headphones to complement their audiophile set up.

“So we’ve bought the same design ethos to the XD-53 headphones as we use for our mixers - they sound fantastic with tons of power, and have a sturdy construction.”

The headphones comprise of 53mm diameter drivers (the largest drivers currently available), have a high power neodymium magnet design, and offer 1500mW of power handling.

For DJ with busy hands, the XD-53 heaphones also have rotating ear pieces for easy one-ear monitoring and can fold up for easy transportation.

The XD-53 headphones will be available from May 2007 for around $282 US / £143 / €210.
